From Elizabeth Scott, M.S., your About Healthy Monday Editor
With so many great shows on television in addition to movies that can be watched in the convenience of your home, there are a lot of hours being spent in front of the small screen. To an extent, this can be good for your social life (as it gives you something to discuss with friends) and your stress levels (in that it provides you with a mental break from the stresses of life), but could be better for you in terms of fitness. Starting this Monday, we encourage you to find a few exercise moves that work well in front of the television, and use them! You can start by working out during commercials and working your way up to a whole show, or you can begin with easy moves for the whole time you watch, and move to more challenging moves. Either way, if you commit to moving a bit while you watch, you'll become more fit while you enjoy the show. What have you got to lose?

I laughed! I cried! I relieved stress! I toned my pooping muscles!
All of this, only by reading an article about the benefits of TV. Still, it's a start.
Of course, for one who is going to be perched in front of a television anyway, exercise is an excellent idea. I just wonder to what extent it ends up leading to more TV and less exercise.
CHEWING IS GOOD FOR YOU!
Chewing while watching TV can save your life and make you a fascinating conversationalist.
