I’m sorry once more to be the bearer of bad news but Atilio (Dueñas) has died. Local police confirmed that he was found this morning in his apartment.

We have no more confirmed details at this point but I will let you know when they are available.

The Pacific Group held a memorial meeting this morning for Atilio and many shared their remembrances of a good man with a great sense of humor.

Boris also shared info that he had been in communication with the chief of police in Quepos. Atilio was found in his apartment; the cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the lower back which may have severed his spine. Apparently it was not a case of robbery as his wallet, with a substantial amount of money in it, was intact as were other personal items. No other information, such as motive or perpetrator, is available at this time.

Please keep Atilio and his family in your prayers. We’ve lost a good friend.
