It's a "cuz it's true" situation that applies to most of us, I think. I would wager that the first time your average child or adolescent or what-have-you is vantageously privy to what s/he had known up to that point by way of knocking about the 'hood on foot, so much hidden, unable to be seen at once and then, voila! "I can see everything!"
The question that arises in my mind is why the Jes-anator didn't notice that during his proverbial Sermon: "...love your neigh... Holy craps! They've turned the temple into a casino!"
