My recollection of HT's realization, upon Dave's announcing a commercial break, that they had been on the air for an entire segment and not, as he had apparently assumed, on a commercial break already, was that he was much more taken aback by that fact than he appears watching it now. I wonder if it's not just a case of false memory and that perhaps something has changed, culturally speaking, in the meantime to alter my impression or expectations of what constitutes normal behavior. He comes across as pretty casually interesting now, as opposed to "out there", even if it still seems like he might be on a little something.
