I'm
reading a
book called First
you Write a Sentence. The
goal is to write
clearly, succinctly,
and informatively.
Mainly.
But,
also one is admonished
to wax
to
be poetical
and lyrical. Do not use unnecessary words, but
make
it sing.
I am halfway
through the book
and, at this point,
I can't force
myself to
put the first word down.on
screen
Edited
first paragraph above.
Now
I can't make the strikethrough stop.
Oh. Clear formatting. Okay
Now I know why Strunk was so lauded.
I remember reading a zenish article once that stessed the wonderfulness of not speaking unless you had something meaningful to say. Same effect. Couldn't think of a thing that needed saying.
Bottom line. Get a real live teacher. Bottom bottom line. Forget it.
