I had seen it long ago and recall it as boring and uninteresting. And this was at a time that I loved anything Forster or Merchant/Ivory, so I was surprised and disappointed. I decided to give it another try with my current mind and found it fascinating. The visuals alone were worth the view and I can imagine how Forster described them in print. I have it on my Kindle, so I can read it and find out.
I always knew I could enjoy today books that I didn't understand or relate in the past, but am interested--well, amazed--to find it holds true with movies also. At least with this movie. I must try others. I've spent the day nibbling and browsing and enjoyed it thoroughly. Also I want to see some of the Unseen on accounta the guy who died who was also in St. Elsewhere who I never woulda guessed. Thanks to Dip for that info.
A complaint: I have tried every way I know to remove books from my Kindle and seem unable to do it. I delete them from the active file and they appear in the archive. I go online and delete them but they do not leave. Find and Sync and Update or whatever do nothing but download books to my device. I am beginning to assume that the ones in the archive that show as a list on my Kindle are actually not stored there but that these titles are shortcuts to download them from the cloud, with which I have never had no truck with and never intend to so much as acknowledge. As I write this it seems that this is so obvious that I am a fool for not realizing it before. As well as for many other reasons.
