I had ordered some Chanel # 5 last week. Sort of an augury, perhaps.
Today I drove downtown with a friend to see the wet grey streets and the sparse pedestrian parade of Indy. Partly to prove to myself that I have not totally become a wuss after all. A lot of tall buildings but the same old mostly deserted streets. Light traffic. Homeless folk congregating in the parks.
Handed out money to two wandering souls, causing traffic behind me to honk impatiently.

PS: It is still Indiana in the winter though. Brrrrr.
Next year in Jerusalem. Oh, wait...

Ate noon breakfast at IHOP ( friend's treat because I drove). Imagine me doing that. That's the amazing me part.
At IHOP talked to 5 Spanish speaking people. One from Panama, three from Nicaragua, and one from here. Spanish chat, hugs all around etc. Lovely. Place was packed and I didn't even mind the 15 minute wait. I am losing my Spanish though.
Back home I had a workout next door in the vacant exercise room. Watched soccer during. Don't know who played, don't care, I like the idea and the rhythm and the sound of soccer on TV. No shouting.

In my apartment, balcony door open, cool air feels good after a little sweat.
People outside coming and going and shouting to each other and horns honking. I hear the sound of the rope clacking against the flagpole in the breeze and the train horn from the nearby tracks.
I am enjoying myself. I love you all and hope you are enjoying yourselves too.
Love mama

I hope your sabbatical has spared you from the bone-chilling. Yikes. But wasn't it often that cold when we was kids?
Yes it was. I keep wondering why everyone is groaning about a little zero weather. I been inside and warm. Lucky me. Seriously.
Interestingly, to me at least, catching up takes time and effort. Multitudinous real news, fake news, witty comments to think up, naps to take, ah, the burdens of society.
