So many things I don't (didn't) know Faffing around.

 1. Track changes. A Microsoft tool to keep track of changes in a document or of additions by different writers.

2. Online faffing.  Usage: Brit, informal. Dither; spend time achieving nothing "we wasted half an hour faffing". Derived forms: faffs, faffing, faffed.   Aha. What I am doing now.

3.That I could work on files from Google Docs and Windows files at the same time on the same windows 7 laptop. Just open in different tabs and try to remember not to close the wrong tab.

4. A new show called Episodes, starring Matt LeBlanc,  that Netflix just emailed me about. I started watching it and like it, but there is only one 7 episode season  so I'm saving it to enjoy a little bit at a time rather than gulping it all in one long night.

5. Freud, another movie which I will try later. Gotta get through all today's emails first.

6. fernweh  German word to describe a longing to be on the road, an ache to see the rest fo the world. Untranslatable to English in one word.

7. golem Merriam Webster gives as synonyms:
airhead,
birdbrain,
blockhead,
bonehead,
bubblehead,
chowderhead,
chucklehead,
clodpoll.
But I thought there was more meaning to it and found the following.
The Golem is a mythical anthropomorphic being which is created from clay or mud and endowed with life through the power of magic and mysticism. The purpose of the Golem is to serve its creator. However, in many of the myths and legends, the Golem becomes uncooperative, sometimes even turning against its creator.

8. Browsing for laptops is futile. I don't know anything about new stuff.

9. Last, but not least, I must not read online news. Must not click on Trump says lines. I just read he is blaming  previous administrations for our testing deficit. I get angry and this is just plain stupid. I'm off the news.

1. re. Track changes: The amount of time I spend preparing for lessons, etc. includes to no small degree the feeling that I am wasting my time searching for solutions to hindrances to the preparation. Occasionally I stumble upon tools I didn't know about, for which I am grateful, but sometimes end up wasting more time. If I only knew of all the tools already.

2. Faffing indeed.

6. I don't have ferweh, but I miss my Mama.

7. re. golem. I wonder how many times the word appears in Frankenstein.

9. Reading online anything is a waste of time. Except in my case it's led to my having been unaware all of these entries of yours. I'd swear you suddenly entered them all at once post-dated.

Once upon a time...
