Checking out the KOBO Clara HD e-reader A post in progress

Main idea is it is not Amazon. Second, It is designed to work with OVERDRIVE which is the library standard. Most of my books are on loan from a library. However, it also is compatible with PDF and other formats. Not Kindle though, if that matters. The KOBO store has a wide selection and I never shop at the Amazon shop anyway.
Then, this review pleased me no end. It is the kind of review I would do in person if I were telling you about a product. At about 12.0 or so she starts taking the thing apart. It is a priceless thing and makes me want her for a friend, almost. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxqVLnosNTI I suggest seeing the review just for the fun of it. I'm still researching and will comment more later.
More thoughts added Oct 16, 2020.
Last night I was reading on my Kindle and thought to myself (who else) 'Why would I want to start all over with another thing to learn. I can read just fine on this one.'
But, more and more the library has books I'd like to read in OUTLOOK form and not Kindle, in which case I can't download them. That's one point. Supposably KOBO shows graphics better and I 'd like to read some Liebermann graphic novels. MAUS for one. That's two.
But probably, even on KOBO the graphics would be too small for me to see anyway.
And C, I just paid off my new twin bed and I'd like to accumulate some unused credit now.
4 .As far as Amazon, I already paid them for my Kindles and don't buy books from them anyway so that's probably disingenuous reasoning.
Number five, my hands shake too much to make that tape thing anything but a nightmare. So...Probably not in this life. A decision I can live with. Playing with words.

"I'm more OCD than tech-able." Classic.

Oct 23 Okay, another book I want to read that is only available from the library on overdrive but not kindle. I have begun to re think the other brand reader. May make a list of books I can't get free on kindle but can on Overdrive. Start with Mr. Fox by Helen Oyeyemi.

That comment is one of several things I liked about this review. I like her no-nonsense, serious, and sensible approach. Her willingness to just take the damn thing apart. The cat climbing onto the back of that chair and stretching to the top of the curtain to look out the window was funny to me. I can't help loving stuff like that.

Also, I might have a little bit of a crush on this woman.
